A smart home refers to a home setup where appliances and devices can be controlled without using wall switches, using mobile phones, voice assistants, remotely from anywhere with an internet connection using a mobile or other networked device such as Google Assistant®, Amazon Alexa® & Apple HomeKit®. Devices in a smart home are interconnected through the internet, allowing the user to control functions such as switching, lighting control, temperature monitoring etc.
